Is the time right for PLM? Read Centric’s advice in CA Apparel News, Then Take Our Poll.

The editors of California Apparel News asked, “How do you know it’s time to invest in PLM?” and Centric’s James Horne replied.

PLM software for retail, apparel, footwear, luxury and consumer goods companies helps teams achieve productivity and efficiency. Apparel manufacturers and retailers understand this. But what isn’t so clear is knowing when to add PLM.

It’s an issue California Apparel News tackled in an article recently, and they asked Centric’s Vice President of Marketing James Horne to weigh in. Here are a few of the signs he says indicate that companies need PLM now.

  • If existing systems (email, spreadsheets, PDM) hamper—rather than help—product teams meet increasing SKU production demands.
  • If your current work environment and systems are so burdensome that you can’t pursue a new market, even though you’ve identified one.
  • If your designers are being drained of creativity because they are consumed by administrative tasks.
  • If you struggle to quickly and accurately document proof-of-compliance.
